Production Supervisor
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a Production Supervisor who will oversee production and technical aspects of public programming, exhibitions, and keystone festivals, including the flagship Radiant Nature festival. This position leads the Production Team in coordinating multi-departmental logistics, supervising seasonal and contract staff, managing vendor relations, and ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of events and installations across the Garden.
Stormwater Wetlands & Family Garden Horticulturist (I/II)
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a Stormwater Wetlands and Family Garden Horticulturist who will be responsible for the horticultural and ecological management of stormwater wetlands, aquatic plant communities, and landscapes within the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden. This role integrates wetland stewardship with visitor-focused garden care and educational support. This role requires a collaborative mindset, flexibility, and a willingness to contribute to collective goals while maintaining ownership of assigned garden areas. This position is on a job ladder and will be filled at the level — Horticulturist I or Horticulturist II — that most closely corresponds with the incumbent’s education/experience.
Horticulture Intern (Fall to Spring)
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a horticulture intern for a part-time, 9-month (fall to spring) immersive experience. The intern should be a student pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant science, ecology, environmental studies, botany, biology, or a related field. The intern will gain hands-on experience by working alongside the Garden’s horticultural professionals in three-month rotations throughout the garden and receive regular training from their mentors during the duration of the internship. In addition to hands-on skills, the intern will also work on a focused project that will enhance their research, problem solving, and professional skills.
Grounds Assistant – Mowing
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a Grounds Assistant who will primarily be responsible for performing mowing and other maintenance tasks to maintain the appearance and safety of the Garden grounds. This position will primarily work outdoors with a team of other Grounds personnel to ensure the Garden maintains a professional appearance for guests to enjoy.
