The Houston Botanic Garden is proud to present Glass in Flight, an outdoor art and science exhibition, opening Saturday, October 21, 2023. Glass in Flight features more than 20 steel and glass sculptures of gigantic, realistic insects. Created by artist Alex Heveri, each sculpture captures the essence of flight. Sunlight through the sculptures’ colored glass mimics the transparency and iridescence of insect wings, intensifying the illusion of movement and life.
