Event Specialist
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking an Event Specialist who will work closely with the Director of Events and the Visitor Experience team to plan and execute all aspects of Garden events. These include, but are not limited to, Garden-wide special events, festival days, the annual fundraising luncheon, and large-scale private rentals. In addition, the position will focus on creative add-on experiences, recruiting unique vendors, coordination and logistics of set up and break down of events, as well as ways to elevate the guest experience.
Grounds Assistant – Mowing
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a Grounds Assistant who will primarily be responsible for performing mowing and other maintenance tasks to maintain the appearance and safety of the Garden grounds. This position will work outdoors with a team of other Grounds personnel to ensure the Garden maintains a professional appearance for guests to enjoy.
Horticulture Assistant (Full-time)
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a Horticulture Assistant who will be an important member of the horticulture team, and will be responsible for assisting with horticulture maintenance. The ideal candidate is an energetic, team-oriented gardener interested in hands-on projects in all of our gardens. This multi-faceted position will also involve assisting with preparation for volunteer horticulture workdays, plant labeling, and education programs.
Visitor Experience Assistant (Full-Time)
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking a full-time Visitor Experience Assistant who is passionate about customer service; guest engagement; has experience in vendor relations and retail sales; demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and desires to work in a dynamic organization in a stage of rapid growth.
Horticulture Intern
The Houston Botanic Garden is seeking applicants for its Horticulture Summer Internship Program, a 10-12 week immersive experience for students or recent graduates who are pursuing or have recently obtained an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in: horticulture, plant science, ecology, environmental studies, botany, biology or related field. The Intern will gain hands-on experience by working alongside HBG horticulture professionals, starting with a three-week introduction into public gardens, followed by two, five-week rotations throughout the Garden. The Intern will also receive regular training from their mentors during the duration of the internship.
