In connection with the first-ever Fleet Week Houston, the Navy Band Southeast will perform at the Houston Botanic Garden as part of the Concert in the Park Series presented by ExxonMobil.
Since its establishment in 1995, Navy Band Southeast has been dedicated to providing top quality musical support throughout the Southeastern United States for Commander, Navy Region Southeast. Under the direction of Lieutenant Junior Grade Matthew Stuver, the band is located onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville and serves the military and civilian communities. The 45-member organization is comprised of professional musicians committed to the highest level of performance, each performing in various ensembles including ceremonial and parade bands. Performing more than 350 engagements per year, these musical ambassadors inspire pride and patriotism for military ceremonies, public concerts, parades, school clinics and much more.
The Navy Band Southeast performance is included in the cost of general admission to the Garden, which is $12/adult, $8/child/student/senior/military. Military in official uniform will receive one free general admission ticket on April 18.
Fleet Week Houston will mark the first time the U.S. Navy has brought this tradition to Texas, featuring three naval vessels and more than 1,000 sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen. The week-long lineup includes ship tours, family-oriented activities, educational outreach, community service projects, business forums, and lively celebrations.
