The silent reading trend comes to the Garden this summer. Join the Houston Public Library and The Book Cycle, both of which are committed to making reading sustainable by ensuring books remain in circulation and are accessible to as many readers as possible, for a relaxing evening with a favorite book in one of the Garden’s peaceful, shaded spaces.
Take part in a family story time with the library from 5:30-6 p.m., and potentially discover something new-to-you from The Book Cycle’s mini-market (where all of the books are free for the taking).
Readers are welcome to bring a blanket or camp / lawn chair and find a space on a mowed lawn to make themselves comfortable. The Book Cycle will also be accepting donations of books you would like to pass along to others to enjoy.
