From the biomes you wouldn’t want to spawn in (empty desert) to the biomes with special food items (cocoa in the jungle and berries in the tundra), Minecraft Biomes mimic the diversity of conditions we find out in the natural world. In connection with the “Habitat” exhibition, this hands-on class will explore the features that make Minecaft and real-world biomes unique. Attendees will take a tour of the Global Collection Garden to “collect” Minecraft plants, and then participants will end their journey with a Creative Mode challenge to build their own Global Collection Garden, featuring as many biomes as they have been inspired to include.

Minecraft-ers at all levels are welcome, ideally with tablet in-hand. The Garden will have a limited number of tablets available to borrow.

Non-member fee of $20/adult, $15/child/student includes general admission to the Garden. Garden members receive a $10 discount.

Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for daytime events, which are held rain or shine.
