March for Monarchs

An Epic Journey Through the Garden

WHEN
March 22, 2025 10:00 am -
March 22, 2025 1:00 pm

March for Monarchs will take participants on a journey through the Houston Botanic Garden, designed to mimic conditions along the route the butterflies follow on their northern migration from Mexico to their summer breeding grounds in the northern United States. Along the way, they will face challenges and obstacles, and other times receive rewards. At each station, participants will learn everyday things they can do to help protect monarchs on their long journey.

The event will culminate in the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden, where the National Wildlife Federation’s Student Showcase will feature the work of teachers and students helping to protect the monarch butterfly and promote sustainability on their school grounds. The celebration will include live music, face painting, photo ops with Ranger Rick, and a scavenger hunt.

Non-member fee of $20 includes general admission to the Garden and access to the NWF Student Showcase and its features. Garden members receive a $15 discount.

Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for daytime events, which are held rain or shine. If you have specific questions, please email education@hbg.org.
