In connection with the Monarchs & Marigolds celebration, this workshop will present a simple method of making paper marigolds using only two materials, tissue paper and a pipe cleaner. MECA experts will guide participants through the paper marigold making process while sharing the legend of Xochitl and Huitzilin, the fabled tale of the marigold and hummingbird featured in Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
The Paper Marigolds workshop is included in the cost of general admission to the Garden for Monarchs & Marigolds — which is $15/adult, $10/child/student on Sunday — but you must reserve a workshop ticket(s) to participate, to ensure we have enough paper marigold making materials for everyone. Members can use the free general admission benefit(s) associated with their level of membership to attend at no additional charge, but, again, advanced registration is required.
Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for daytime events, which are rain or shine.
