Picture This: Photography & Astronomy

Through photography and astronomy, the Garden invites you to view the world around — and above — you in fresh ways.

First, the Houston Center for Photography presents a fun and interactive scavenger hunt. You’ll be given a list of creative prompts to practice observation skills and spark new ways of seeing your surroundings. This activity — which is great for all ages — encourages exploration, teamwork, and imaginative image-making.

Second, a representative of the Houston Astronomical Society will enlighten us on the most visible light in the night sky, the moon.

Schedule:

• 5-5:45 p.m. – Learning to Look Scavenger Hunt
• 6-7 p.m. – “21 Facts About the Moon,” by Bill Spizzirri, retired mainframe computer software engineer and astronomy enthusiast
• 7-7:45 p.m. – Learning to Look Scavenger Hunt
