National Wildlife Federation and Ranger Rick are hosting their inaugural Houston Spring Garden Showcase in the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden at the Houston Botanic Garden on Saturday, April 27. The event will celebrate the work of teachers and students helping to recover the monarch butterfly and promote sustainability on their school grounds. There will be fun-filled activities for the entire family, including live music, face painting, photo ops with Ranger Rick, and a scavenger hunt.
The Spring Garden Showcase is included in the cost of general admission for the day — $15 per adult, $10 per child or student with a valid ID. Garden members can attend for free.
Schools that participate in NWF can email ungerk@nwf.org for admission information.
Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for most events, which are often held in climate-controlled environments, rain or shine. Stop #848 on METRO Route 005-Southmore is the closest stop for those coming to the Garden via bus. If you have specific questions, please email education@hbg.org.
