Introduction to Orchid Growing

Curious about orchids but not sure where to start? The Houston Botanic Garden is partnering with the Houston Orchid Society to offer a friendly and informative class designed just for beginners.

In this hands-on session, you will learn:  

·         How to choose the right orchid for your growing conditions

·         Watering and feeding basics

·         Light and temperature requirements

·        Re-potting and care throughout the year

Whether you consider yourself a complete novice or are looking to improve your green thumb, this class will give you the confidence to grow and enjoy these stunning plants.

Member Ticket Price: $5 ($15 discount) 

Skill Level: Workshop is intended for participants age 13 and older; all skill levels are welcome.

What to bring:

• Desired note taking tools
• Refillable water bottle (there are refilling stations in the Garden).  

What to wear: Comfortable clothing for sitting and standing inside a climate-controlled tent.
