Houston Botanic Garden’s BotaniCamp, a plant-centric nature camp for K-5 students, uses a sensory and inquiry-driven curriculum to present many opportunities to go beyond just observation. BotaniCamp connects children with plants and nature through thoughtful and diverse lessons, with creative hands-on activities.

June 15-19 — Garden Guardians
Dig into where food really comes from! Campers will explore soil, seeds, plants, and the people who grow our food, while learning how to care for the land, nourish their bodies, and become thoughtful food stewards in their community.

BotaniCamp is $315 per camper per week. Garden members receive a $25 discount per camper per week. Or, you can choose to register your camper for a single day(s) within a weekly session for $75 per camper per day (with a $10 discount per camper per day for Garden members). Whichever option you choose, please make sure to register no later than the Friday before the themed week in which you plan to enroll.

Who can attend BotaniCamp?

BotaniCamp is open to students ages 5-11. While all campers start the day together and have opportunities to interact, programming is tailored to two age groups: 5-7 and 8-11.

When is BotaniCamp?

BotaniCamp runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where will campers spend their time?

BotaniCamp is a nature-based program, and campers spend as much time outdoors as weather safely allows. We adjust activities during extreme heat, thunderstorms, or other potentially unsafe conditions.

What should my camper(s) wear?

Send your child in breathable, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that can get dirty.

What should my camper(s) bring?

Campers need to bring a refillable water bottle each day. Parents must provide a sack lunch daily, as well. The Garden provides two snacks per camp day, and one snack during after-camp.

How early can I drop off my camper(s)?

Dropoff begins at 8:30 a.m. Parents are not expected to stay on-site.

What if I can’t pick up my camper(s) at 2 p.m.?

Garden After-Camp is available for an additional fee — $115/child/week or $30/child/day for non-members, or $90/child/week or $20/child/day for members — from 2-5 p.m. Because after-camp occurs during the hottest part of the day, campers will primarily stay indoors, with the option to watch an age-appropriate movie or participate in games / low-energy activities related to the week’s theme.

How late is pick-up?

All campers must be picked up no later than 5 p.m.

NOTE: The Houston Botanic Garden is not a licensed childcare facility.
